Access to clean water is a basic human right, yet many children in Somalia suffer from water scarcity. Our Water Program provides safe and sustainable water sources to ensure children and their communities stay healthy, hydrated, and free from waterborne diseases. Together, we can bring clean water to those who need it most.
At Onkod Foundation, we are committed to solving the water crisis in Somalia by delivering clean and safe drinking water to underserved communities.
What we do
- Well & Borehole Construction: We build wells and boreholes in water-scarce areas to provide sustainable access to clean water.
- Water Purification & Distribution: We supply filtration systems and distribute clean drinking water to schools and villages.
- Hygiene & Sanitation Education: We teach communities the importance of clean water, proper hygiene, and disease prevention.
Why it matters
- Contaminated water leads to deadly diseases, especially among children.
- Women and children often walk miles daily to fetch water, keeping them from education and other opportunities.
- Access to clean water improves health, reduces poverty, and empowers communities.
How You Can Help
- Donate: Help us build wells and provide clean water to more communities.
- Volunteer: Support our mission by assisting in water distribution and education efforts.
